Recognizing the opportunity to capture students early in their careers at Allegheny, the Emerging Leaders Retreat was created in 1999. It has become a crucial piece of the leadership program and an excellent stepping-stone for first year students to get connected into the greater Allegheny community. The overnight retreat takes place at an off site location prior to the start of Spring Semester each January. Topics of discussion include exploring sense of self, introduction to leadership theories including Servant Leadership and the Leadership Challenge, and skills development programs.
