Letter from Allegheny's President

Richard J. Cook

Dear Allegheny Students:

Allegheny·s student organizations, including fraternities and sororities, offer tremendous opportunities for developing leadership skills, forming relationships with community members, and contributing to the life of the College. Many students find that active involvement in campus life makes their Allegheny experiences richer and more fulfilling.

Allegheny·s fraternities and sororities are especially strong in terms of service to the College and to the Meadville community. Our chapters are affiliated with national organizations, all of which place a strong emphasis on academic achievement and leadership development. They have long histories at Allegheny, and when fraternities and sororities are at their best, they help make their members successful students and productive citizens.

Many of us at Allegheny benefited personally from fraternity and sorority membership, and we support the efforts of our greek system to become a national leader in scholarship, service, and leadership development. That begins with recruiting new members who value those qualities, and I wish you the best as you seek out new activities that will enrich your lives at Allegheny.

Sincerely,
Richard Cook
President
