In the event that a delay occurs or a student is without transportation at an airport please utilize these resources:

Transportation is offered to the Pittsburgh (PIT) and Cleveland (CLE) airports. Shuttle sign-up forms are available in the Student Activities Office or on this web site, three weeks prior to the break period. The completed reservation form and non-refundable payment of $25 for each way, are required to reserve your space. Deadlines of approximately one week in advance are strictly adhered to for vehicle reservation purposes and licensing by the state of Pennsylvania.. Reservations received after the deadline are $35 each way and will only be accepted up to 72 hours prior to departure if space is available. When making airline reservations, please allow ample time for travel to the airports, 1.75 hours to PIT and 2.5 hours to CLE, plus the time needed for airport security checks. When arranging for your return flight, take into consideration flight delays that may occur. Shuttle drivers will be instructed to leave the airport fifteen minutes after the stated pick-up time, regardless of flight delays. If the College's transportation schedule does not meet your travel needs, refer to the Alternative Transportation Resources listed below. If you have a question regarding the Airport Shuttle Schedule, please contact the Student Activities office at (814) 332-2754. Allegheny offers a shuttle at each of the major breaks in the academic year as a service to students. The schedule for each academic year is set in June for the following academic year and published on this website, in the Parents' Handbook, and the Compass student handbook. This service can not begin to accommodate the individual flight schedules of all traveling students, however it has been designed and refined over the last decade to accommodate as many students as possible.
Tips for use of Shuttles:
As of Fall 2006, at the time of break shuttle reservation students will need to provide personal contact information and complete flight information including: airline, flight number, flight departure (and/or arrival time, depending on whether they are going to or coming from the airport). Please note: students may still use the shuttle for rides to Cleveland or Pittsburgh who are not connecting to flights.
When making airline reservations, you must allow ample time for travel to the airports, 1.75 hours to PIT and 2.5 hours to CLE, plus the time needed for airport security checks.
When arranging your return flight take into consideration flight delays may occur. Shuttle drivers are instructed to leave the airport fifteen minutes after the stated departure time regardless of flight delays. We acknowledge that this might necessitate waiting at the airport for lengths of time to best ensure travel on the shuttle.
If you are having difficulty finding a flight that accommodates the shuttle departure time to or from Allegheny consider asking a friend if you can get a ride to the airport to meet your flight, or stay overnight and get a ride to the airport the next morning. This might save you a lot of money!
The College provided transportation schedule can not meet the needs of every individual student. Please refer to the Alternative Transportation Resources listed in the sidebar. If you have a question regarding the Airport Shuttle Schedule, please contact the Student Activities office at (814) 332-2754.
